Urgent appointments for today or tomorrow

If you feel that your problem is urgent, you should tell the receptionist and every effort will be made for you to be seen the same day.

If the doctor needs to see you in person or you would prefer a face-to-face appointment, we will invite you to come in.

Ways to book

  1. Telephone: 0161 320 8788
  2. Request an urgent appointment online. All patients are contacted on the same day.

Book a routine GP appointment

You can book an appointment online with our GPs. Surgeries take place throughout the day from 8am to 6:30pm.

Ways to book

  1. Request an appointment online. All patients are contacted on the same day.
  2. Telephone: 0161 320 8788

Please remember that if you wish to see a specific doctor, you may have to wait longer for your appointment.

We will try our best to see you at the right time as much as possible.

However, as the time taken to see a patient is very unpredictable, it is impossible to guarantee that you will be seen at the exact time that the appointment is booked.

We ask that you let us know when you book the appointment if you have more than one problem that you would like a consultation for, and that you make an appointment for every family member that wishes to be seen.

Anyone who attends late for an appointment without informing us will not normally be seen.

Practice nurse and healthcare assistant appointments

Appointments to see the practice nurse or healthcare assistant are pre-bookable up to 4 weeks in advance.

Please phone 0161 320 8788 or contact us online to book appointments. All patients are contacted on the same day.

Home visits

The doctor may telephone you to assess whether a visit is required, and may either give advice, arrange a surgery appointment or a home visit as is deemed appropriate.

A doctor or nurse can see many more patients in the surgery in the same time it takes to visit one patient at home, and the full facilities for examination are available only in the surgery.

Therefore, we offer home visits only to patients who the doctor or nurse feel are too ill to attend the surgery or who are registered as housebound.

We will not visit on the grounds of convenience, as this is unfair on other patients who would have to forego having an appointment in the surgery.

We expect patients to make arrangements for travel to and from the surgery. If you feel that you meet the criteria for a home visit, please ring 0161 320 8788 before 10:30am.

Benefits for patients seen at the surgery

  • We have full medical equipment and staff to give patients a higher quality of care.
  • They are likely to be seen quicker; We offer urgent same day appointments if needed.
  • They are guaranteed a face-to-face consultation rather than telephone consultation.

Change or cancel an appointment

If you cannot attend your given appointment please call 0161 320 8788 to cancel or reschedule. On average 85 people every month fail to turn up for their appointments without informing us. You can also cancel and request to re-arrange your appointment via the link in your SMS reminder message from the practice.

These slots could be put to good use and offered to another patient, allowing the doctors and nurses to reduce any backlog of patients and reduce waiting times. Please think of others when you can no longer attend or need a scheduled appointment.

This has to be done at least 48 hours before your appointment is due and on a Thursday if your appointment is on Monday or Tuesday the following week.

Out of hours
